“FM” and “IRI” SAFETY FUEL TRAINS

PACIFIC KILN can custom build either “F-M” or “IRI” type main fuel trains for existing furnace applications. These fuel trains are important in satisfying increasingly strict insurance requirements or local building or fire code requirements. The specifications may vary from area to area, so we have listed only general descriptions of the systems here.

“F-M” (Factory Mutual)

This type of main fuel train usually includes an F-M approved gas cock, gas pressure regulator, manual reset safety shut-off valve, high/low gas pressure switches and an additional, approved gas cock. The high/low gas pressure switches, as well as any limit switches in the safety shut-off valve are generally wired into the existing safety system circuit.

  • MANUAL GAS COCK
  • GAS PRESSURE REGULATOR
  • MANUAL RESET SAFETY VALVE
  • HIGH/LOW GAS PRESSURE SWITCH
  • MANUAL GAS COCK
  • OVERALL LENGTH IS APPROX. 36″

“IRI” (Industrial Risk Insurers)

This type of main fuel train usually includes an F-M approved gas cock, gas pressure regulator, manual reset safety shut-off valve, a normally open “vent” solenoid valve, a motorized safety valve, high/low gas pressure switches and finally an additional, approved manual gas cock. The high/low gas pressure switches, as well as any limit switches in the safety valves are generally wired into the existing safety system of the furnace.

  • MANUAL GAS COCK
  • GAS PRESSURE REGULATOR
  • MANUAL RESET SAFETY VALVE
  • HIGH/LOW GAS PRESSURE SWITCH
  • MANUAL GAS COCK
  • MOTORIZED SAFETY VALVE
  • SOLENOID VENT VALVE
  • OVERALL LENGTH IS APPROX. 48″

We would be glad to discuss your application and requirements for either of the above systems.
